Back of the Book Competition – Week 8

Back of Book CompetitionIt’s time for the Back of the Book Competition! In this competition, I show you the back cover of a book each week, and you need to guess which book it is. There are prizes to be won, and the more often you participate, the more chances you have to win.

I need new pictures! You will be featured on my blog and you will get a win for the week that your cover is placed. See full information here.

http://bookdout.wordpress.com/Today’s featured blog is Shelleyrae from Book’d Out. Shelleyrae says: “So I read alot, I have always loved reading but never had anyone to talk to about books with. No one really wanted to listen if a book made me cry or rage or laugh or filled my heart with joy. There was no one to get my obscure book character references or favourite quotes. *insert sob here*

So like everyone who has something to say but feels no one is listening, I’ve started a blog. Book’d Out lets me share my reading with the hope that someone will stumble across it and find a new book they want to read, or argue with my opinion or simply share the love. I am adding book reviews and news that interest me and hopefully someone else will find it interesting too. I review a wide range of books from a variety of genres, to backlists and bestsellers. Don’t expect literary critique, my opinions might be a little clumsily expressed but they will be honest. I’m not interested in tearing apart someone’s hard work only sharing what I think and learn.”

About this week’s book, Shelleyrae says: “I chose it because it was a good read, and its about Australia by and Australian author and I am patriotic LOL.”

This Week

Anyone can join in, you can join in at any time. Why not this week? You don’t need a blog. Just a name and an email address is enough (Email address is needed in case there are two Kates, or people use their blog name one week and their real name the next).

Everyone is entered for a prize at the end of the competition, even if you only played once. But the more you play, the more entries you’ll get in the prize draw (even if you got some of the answers wrong).

Send in a book picture if you’d like (not compulsory at all).

Have you filled out the form?

    *hint hint*

Use the search function on my blog to search for a distinctive word or two from the back of the book blurb 🙂
If you click on the cover above you can see it larger and easily read it 🙂

Shelleyrae, tut tut! Don’t give these people any hints! They are too good at this guessing thing as it is! 🙂

Thanks for posting about it on your blog and for entering a picture. It’s great to have you participating.

I just discovered this game of yours from the post Shellyrae had posted on her blog. I decided to join in, and am now following your blog. I look forward to playing again next week!

  6. tanabata says:

Figuring out which book the cover belongs to is only half the fun. The other is discovering books I hadn’t heard of before. 🙂

I love comments! Let me know what you think.
