24-Hour Readathon – Plans

My weekend plans: read. And read a bit more. And read. And repeat. It’s READATHON weekend. Below is my reading pile. I have no idea how much I’ll be able to get through, but these are some of my newest books and I don’t want them to end up in the black hole, a.k.a. my book case with unread books.

readathon

Brooklyn by Colm Toibin
Day Four by Sarah Lotz
Fatty O’Leary’s Dinner Party by Alexander McCall Smith
Armada by Ernest Cline
Zink by David van Reybrouck

I think I’m most looking forward to Armada, just because Ready Player One by the same writer was one of my very favorite books of all time.

I’m not planning to read as fast as possible, just as much as possible (as in: time spent reading). I will not read for 24 hours. I do need sleep. In the Netherlands, we’re starting at 2pm on Saturday, and usually by 12 midnight, I take a few hours of sleep, to continue early in the morning until 2pm on Sunday.

Wish me luck! And let me know if you’re joining in!

  1. I read Brooklyn awhile ago but the other books are new to me. I will look for Ready Player One since you liked it so much – thanks.

  2. Wat leuk! Ik ga onofficieel ook meedoen en begin morgenavond al :). Veel plezier alvast

I have the same time zone, and I do the same: I sleep at night, like normal people do (haha), and then I continue in the morning 🙂
    Have fun!

You too, Isi! It’s nice to have a few people in the same time zone. I find that especially on Sunday mornings many people aren’t around any more and it feel a bit lonely.

  4. Hi, we’re joining in too, starting at 1pm here in the UK. The final selection of reads has yet to be made but we are off to buy snacks tomorrow (that’s just as important as the books)
    have a great weekend.

No readathon weekend for me, although I would certainly love one! I will try to cheer all you readers on, and will maybe try to fit in extra reading time myself in honor of the readathon! Your stack looks great! I want to read all of them too!

10 hours of non stop reading on Saturday? Gosh that sounds challenging. I don’t think I could concentrate that much

I love comments! Let me know what you think.
